Meet the Creators
Kylee Leonetti and Christian Jensen met in 2009 and have been collaborating together ever since.
As storytellers with unique strengths, Kylee is a creative ideator and people-person who has a knack for connecting the dots, while Christian is an introspective filmmaker with an artful vision. We formed Kylee and Christian Creative in 2013 as a home for our client work, where we specialize in story-driven documentaries, scripted educational films, and short form marketing content.
Freelancers is our debut scripted series, and to say we are excited to bring this show to life would be a major understatement!

Meet the Cast
-
Naomi Cranston Haag
“Kate”
Kate is a longtime freelancer with a relentlessly optimistic attitude, despite a dwindling bank account. She embodies “fake it til you make it” and is constantly networking, hoping to support herself financially someday. Kate has a huge heart and wants to create something meaningful with her life, but she is also shallow and a bit petty. She loves watching Instagram stories because other people’s lives are “like a movie”.
-
Clay Man Soo
“Colin”
Colin is a guy new to freelancing whose doomsday life approach balances out his wife Kate’s over-optimism. He is funny, despite being a realist. Colin is an aspiring architectural photographer who will take any gig, just to pay the bills. He’s been supporting Kate (financially and otherwise) for years as she follows her dreams; his goals include not falling into financial ruin. Colin runs a blog where he reviews restaurant bathrooms. He considers this a public service.
-
Ty Noble
“Esteban”
Esteban works a lot of various jobs, including but not limited to: driving, serving, catering, grip work, lifeguarding, and babysitting (he’s CPR certified and also studied to be an EMT). He’s always there for Colin as his best - if not only - friend.
-
Nicole Weber
“Missy”
The narcissistic friend Kate keeps around because she’s “fun”, and because they share history. Missy is a mommy-blogger-influencer type who promotes most of her life on her Instagram, which is how she makes her money.
-
Valencia Proctor
“Emily”
Kate’s most loyal friend. She’s a gig worker for events (not catering) and for film & photo shoots, and she recently walked off a job due lack of respect, which is one of her core values. While it’s nerve-wracking to free float through the uncertainty of what’s next, Emily’s work ethic ensures she always lands on her feet.
-
Chelsey Grant
“Avery”
A friend of Kate’s and Emily’s in the visual arts world who often works as a freelance production assistant, aka coffee-getter, or as an artist’s assistant. Happy-go-lucky, a bit naive, but “everything always works out!”. Friend to everyone but not in touch with herself. Most of her other friends moved to LA a long time ago.
